Concerto Competition: Students are given the opportunity to compete to perform their concerto with they MAYS’ top groups. Each season, an independent panel of judges will carefully listen and, using a rubric, will score each student who enters our Concerto Competition. The students with the highest scores will be invited to perform their concerto with the MAYS.

Concerto Competition Guidelines:

Members of the MAYS will perform their concerto with their own piano accompanist (MAYS does not provide piano accompanists but can help you find one).

Your concerto must be memorized.

The Concerto Competition will be judged by an independent panel of judges, and students will be scored. The students with the highest scores will have the chance to be a soloist with one of the MAYS orchestras.
